These two preludes from Claude Debussy's two books of 24 were adapted for two electric guitars by Benjamin J. Harbert. Each prelude takes advantage of the electric guitar's extended range, dynamics, and sustain and offers a different perspective on Debussy's piano works. "Canope" (canopic jar) is an impressionistic study of an art gallery. "Les tierces alternées" (alternating thirds) speeds through harmonized arpeggios to create a technical showpiece with subtle harmonic shifts.

These arrangements have been performed by the Los Angeles Electric 8 and with drums by the Harbert, Hamley, Ashby Trio.
